Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude
Do you see the world as being one of scarcity or abundance?
If you think of the world through the lens of scarcity, you are more inclined to say/think:
I don’t have enough time.
I’m not making enough money.
I’m not doing enough of X,Y,Z.
In other words, there is dissatisfaction inside.
On the other hand, if you are a person who views the world as one of abundance, you are more inclined to say/think:
I do have enough time.
I am making enough money to take care of my needs.
I am doing plenty of X,Y,Z.
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude can help you be more satisfied with who you are and what you have. Being grateful or thankful can help you experience more positive feelings and boost your well being.
Gratitude is an action you can practice over time. It’s a choice you make.
Gratitude also is an important component of being donor-centered and promoting a stronger culture of philanthropy. The more genuine gratitude you feel toward and express to your donors, the more authentic and donor-centered your relationships will be.
The same applies to your relationships with board members.
