The Boughs: A Legacy for Their Community

Allison M. Bough, MBA, CFRE

President & AFP Master Trainer

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Allison began her fundraising career almost 30 years ago, raising money for environmental and human service causes including organizations helping people with disabilities. In 2015, she founded SparkNonprofit, LLC to help nonprofits energize their fundraising. In addition to successfully leading organizations through capital campaigns from $1,000,000 to $15,000,000 and developing planned giving programs, she has coached CEOs, directors, and board members to feel confident about asking for gifts. A current board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Hampton Roads VA Chapter (AFP-HR) and the Hampton Roads Gift Planning Council, Allison serves as Professional Education Chair for AFP-HR and a mentor to newer fundraising professionals. In 2019, she became a Certified Master Trainer by the Association of Fundraising Professionals International. Allison holds an MBA from Meredith College and a BA in Economics & Business from Hollins University. When she’s not helping nonprofits raise money, she loves to travel, cook Italian food and visit art museums.
